When Toyota introduced the new suspension platform for the 2005 Tacoma 4wd pickup and prerunner they had already been running the design on the 03-07 4runner. TC first tested the platform with the entry level UCA system and worked closely with its customers to get feedback for the development of the long travel system. The suspension system TC debuted in the Fall of 2005 incorporates 3.5” extended uniball upper control arms, maintains a 100% bolt on application and features a pre tabbed 3.5” exended lower control arm to include dual 2.5 shocks. The dual 2.5 shock option offers maximum tune ability to customize your ride for your specific application. Installing the primary coil over is necessary to install the kit, but the addition of a secondary smooth body or bypass shock being installed is available to achieve maximum performance. The changes made to the spindle and steering system on the new models have allowed for the development of a lower uniball conversion to be incorporated into this suspension system. This feature is not capable on the previous models. Unlike our competitors, the TOTAL CHAOS system design does not drop the spindle and actually decrease your ground clearance on the vehicle. We spent the extra time to correctly design the lower uniball conversion to maximize ground clearance and wheel travel providing the best performance set up for daily driving or off road. The long travel kit will provide a true 13” of usable wheel travel while retaining 4wd. TC offers custom machined 4340 extended axles that will need to be reinserted into the factory inner and outer CV joints to retain 4wd. This system required a boxed lower control arm to be designed and fabricated in order to incorporate the billet CNC lower control arm adapter. TC offers an optional bolt on skid plate that is formed to protect the lower control arm in the event you have to navigate through rough terrain and need to maneuver over obstacles. The kit includes all mounting hardware, urethane bushings & inner sleeves, zirk fittings on the upper arms to lubricate the pivots on the vehicle, limit straps, adjustable limit strap clevis’, upper shock mounts, upper and lower uniballs, and tie rods extensions. Specify what brand shock you will install at the time of order, the shock mounts do differ by brand. Also specify 4Runner or pickup, shock mounts do differ by the model vehicle also.
