Nicole Pitell-Vaughan to drive the distance at the 2017 Vegas to Reno<\/strong><\/p>\n

August 15, 2017 (Corona, CA) \u2013 This Friday, Team TOTAL CHAOS will take on the longest off-road race in America \u2013 the legendary General Tire Vegas to Reno Presented by FOX.\u00a0 Behind the wheel of #7211 is Total Chaos Fabrication co-owner, Nicole Pitell-Vaughan.\u00a0 After a solid finish at the Mint, Pitell-Vaughan will drive the entire distance in the crowd favorite truck known as \u201cLil T<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 1-day race starts north of Las Vegas in Beatty, Nevada and finishes approximately 550 miles later, just south of Reno.\u00a0 The trusted and proven 2006 Tacoma<\/a> is well-suited for the distance and course. \u00a0Nicole shared the driving duties at Vegas to Reno in the same truck in 2011 and 2012 with her husband Matt Vaughan.<\/p>\n

The pump-gas, door banger Tacoma is a production chassis retaining many original parts including the stock frame, cab, doors, and headlights. It is equipped with custom suspension utilizing the same uniballs, materials, and construction techniques that are used in TOTAL CHAOS production suspension systems. The custom built suspension bolts to the factory control arm mounting locations and utilizes modified OE Toyota components to complete the build. The team performed a 4.0L 6cyl motor swap, modified a 2007+ Tundra steering rack to fit the narrower vehicle and custom fabricated 86-95 Toyota 4WD lift spindles that utilize Land Cruiser hubs.<\/p>\n

Director of Operations at TOTAL CHAOS Fabrication, Inc., Pitell-Vaughan is known for her hard charging antics on dirt bikes, mountain bikes, and trucks, has turned her attention to tackling the challenges of endurance events.\u00a0 She recently drove the entire distance at the Mint as a warm up to Vegas to Reno.\u00a0 \u201cThis is my first time slated to drive the entire distance of V2R. 549 miles in the triple digit heat is going to put my conditioning and fitness to the test. Staying focused that long and keeping a race pace is will not be easy. I am really pumped for this opportunity and have an amazing crew behind the scenes and in the pits,\u201d noted Pitell-Vaughan.\u00a0 Tim Schrader will return to the right seat to support her effort.<\/p>\n
