Power and performance! TOTAL CHAOS introduced the long travel Tundra Uniball kit in January of 2003. Designed to offer the same performance benefits as the TOTAL CHAOS Tacoma long travel kit, the Tundra kit also utilizes 1" race grade Uniballs that replace the weak factory upper ball joints. Upper control arm pivots include zirk fittings to lubricate the urethane bushings while installed on the vehicle. TC’s lower control arms feature the first pre-tabbed dual 2.5” shock set up that allows for the installation of a primary coil over and optional secondary shock while retaining the 4wd. This suspension system features 3.5” extended chromoly tubular a-arms and cycles 13” of travel while bolting into the stock pivot locations. The lower chromoly tubular control arms are internally gusseted and plated top and bottom for maximum strength and act as a skid plate surface to aid in navigating over obstacles on any trail. Bolt-on applications require use of Fox (PT# 980-99-246B), King or Sway-A-Way 8" travel 2.5 coil-over shocks. Specify which brand shock will be installed because each brand requires its own specific bolt-on coil bucket upper shock mount for the installation. Custom upper shock mounts can also be fabricated to incorporate any brand extended length shocks that offer dual rate coil springs. The vehicles overall track width increases 7", fiberglass fenders are recommended. TC’s optional dual 2.5" shock hoop accessory is also available, welding and grinding is required to install. This long travel system is the only one to incorporate an adjustable limit strap clevis that provides immediate access to adjust and shorten the limit straps, which will stretch up to 10% after installation. Failure to properly limit droop travel can cause the factory spindle to break or cause failure of the 4wd inner CV. For the 4wd trucks, the stock length axle shafts are replaced with TC custom heat treated 4340 extended axle shafts & high angle inner CV boots with clamps. They are re-inserted into the factory Tundra inner and outer CV joints. This kit includes bushings, all mounting hardware, D.O.T. brake lines, quad wrapped adjustable limit straps, powder coat and clear coat. See the accessories for the ball joint removal and slug adapter re-installation tool available.
NOTE:
ALL COILOVER SHOCKS REQUIRE A LOWER CONE-SHAPED COIL SEAT.
